Have you ever imagined spending a night at Capanna Regina Margherita, perched at 4,554 meters, right where the air gets thin and the stars feel close enough to touch? This isn’t just a night in a mountain hut — it’s an experience that stays with you forever.
Our three-day adventure to the highest refuge in Europe combines challenge, discovery, and pure emotion. You’ll travel across the immense glaciers of Monte Rosa. Sleep above the clouds, and watch the world light up at dawn from your balcony at the Capanna. Evenings are for stargazing, when the sky turns crystal clear and silence takes over. A rare privilege that only high altitude can offer.
This journey is a true test of endurance and awareness, designed for those who wish to go beyond a simple ascent. The altitude demands respect. Spreading the climb over several days makes the experience smoother and more enjoyable. You’ll have time to acclimatise, learn, and savour each step. Because here, every pause becomes part of the adventure.
Your IFMGA mountain guide will accompany you throughout, setting a steady rhythm and ensuring your safety. You’ll cross crevassed terrain, rope up for glacier travel. You experience what real high-altitude mountaineering feels like — always under expert supervision.
And when you finally reach Capanna Margherita, you’ll realise that all the effort was worth it. The horizon stretches endlessly, the sun sets over a sea of peaks. And the night sky reveals constellations you’ve never seen so clearly.
Sleeping at 4,554 meters isn’t for everyone — it’s for those who want to experience the mountain in its most authentic form.

We use this one.
Mountaineering, ski touring, off-piste skiing and trekking take place in a natural, uncontrolled environment.
Weather conditions, snow, ice, terrain, visibility, altitude and physical fatigue can change rapidly and directly affect the course of the activity. For this reason, there is always an inherent level of objective risk, which cannot be eliminated but only managed.
All our activities are led by IFMGA Mountain Guides and Certified Hiking Guides (AMM).
The guide continuously assesses environmental conditions and the physical and mental state of participants, sets an appropriate pace, manages progression and ensures the correct use of equipment. If conditions require it, the guide may modify the itinerary or interrupt the activity, always in the interest of individual and group safety.
Participants are required to be in good physical and mental condition, adequately prepared for the level of the activity, and to follow the guide’s instructions at all times.
Group activities
During group outings, the pace is set according to the slowest participant. In case of fatigue or discomfort, the guide may decide to adjust the programme or return early. In the mountains, the group ascends and returns together.
