Level: Advanced
Start date: 1 June
End date: 14 September
Participants: Max 2

My goal

The Soldier’s Ridge is an exciting hike, perfect for those with alpine experience who want to challenge themselves on a ridge.

The route is varied and never overly exposed. It’s not too difficult, but also not trivial, offering a perfect combination of challenge and spectacular views. Every step will test your skills and allow you to admire the breathtaking scenery above 4,000 meters. It’s a great way to see if you’re ready for bigger challenges, like Dufour or the Lyskamm ridge, which you can view from the summit of the Vincent Pyramid.

Climbing a high mountain ridge requires training and acclimatization to altitude, regardless of the route’s difficulty.

Soldier’s Ridge in pills:

Elevation gain: 786m (1215m)
Difficulty: AD, if continuing to Vincent Pyramid PD+
Max Participants: 2
Exposure: South-East
Estimated time: 3.5 hours, if continuing to Vincent 5 hours

This spring, join us to train and start gaining elevation and altitude!

Practicing mountaineering involves risks, including serious or fatal injuries. All Monte Rosa guides are IFMGA certified and are committed to minimizing dangers. It’s important to understand that risks cannot be completely eliminated, and this is something you confirm you have accepted by signing a booking contract for an ascent with us.

The guides will assist you in reaching your goals and ensuring you have a pleasant experience. It is essential to trust their judgment and accept the decisions they make. Being well-prepared and in good physical shape is crucial for ensuring safety during climbs.

If the guide feels you are not ready for the booked ascent, they will suggest an appropriate alternative. In case of unforeseen bad weather that makes the ascent dangerous, the guide will propose an agreed alternative ascent.
