The tours that prepare you for the 4,000ers.
These one- and two-day trips focus on ski touring preparation for Monte Rosa’s 4,000m peaks. On carefully chosen routes in Ossola and at Simplon Pass, you’ll build technique, pacing and endurance with an IFMGA Mountain Guide.
Ski touring preparation starts on the right terrain.
Devero and Formazza offer routes with gradually increasing elevation gain, varied terrain and lower altitudes. They give us the right setting to work on technique, pacing, route choice and managing effort before tackling Monte Rosa’s 4,000-metre peaks.
Build the foundations first. Then head higher.Choose your tour.
Monte Cazzola
Your first steps on skins: kick turns and pacing on one of Alpe Devero’s classic routes.

Two days make a difference.
Two consecutive days are an important part of ski touring preparation, giving you time to build consistency, observe the terrain and develop your skills. The first day helps you find your rhythm; on the second, you bring together technique, effort management and decisions on the mountain.

The price includes: 2 days with a UIAGM Mountain Guide and half board at Maria Luisa Hut.
Simplon Pass · Magehorn + Breithorn
Two days in high mountain terrain, with longer, more demanding routes across broad slopes, valleys and traverses.
The price includes: 2 days with a UIAGM Mountain Guide and half board at Hospice du Simplon.
Real conditions. Real decisions.
Ski touring takes place in a natural environment and involves objective risks. The IFMGA Mountain Guide may change or stop the route according to snow, weather, terrain conditions and the group’s actual ability. Participants must be physically and mentally prepared for the activity. On group tours, pace and decisions take account of the group as a whole.
