Activities

The great Soldier’s Ridge

Level: Advanced
Season: Summer
Duration: 1 day
Participants: Max 2

My goal

The Soldier’s Ridge is an exciting hike, perfect for those with alpine experience who want to challenge themselves on a ridge.

The route is varied and never overly exposed. It’s not too difficult, but also not trivial, offering a perfect combination of challenge and spectacular views. Every step will test your skills and allow you to admire the breathtaking scenery above 4,000 meters. It’s a great way to see if you’re ready for bigger challenges, like Dufour or the Lyskamm ridge, which you can view from the summit of the Vincent Pyramid.

Climbing a high mountain ridge requires training and acclimatization to altitude, regardless of the route’s difficulty.

Soldier’s Ridge in pills:

Elevation gain: 786m (1215m)
Difficulty: AD, if continuing to Vincent Pyramid PD+
Max Participants: 2
Exposure: South-East
Estimated time: 3.5 hours, if continuing to Vincent 5 hours

This spring, join us to train and start gaining elevation and altitude!

1 alpinist  € 520,00
2 alpinists € 300,00 / person

The price includes: IFMGA mountain guide for the day, round-trip cable car to Indren, technical equipment if needed (harness, crampons).
Not included in the price: accident insurance (recommended), meals not mentioned for yourself and the guide, everything not specified under ‘the price includes’.

At 8:30 AM, meet with the guide at the Passo dei Salati for equipment checks and distribution of any missing materials. We’ll start on foot toward the historic Punta Indren cable car. The trail leads up the southern slope of Punta Giordani, where we ascend along the Soldier’s Ridge, tackling sections of difficulty 3/4 until we reach the summit of Punta Giordani.

From Punta Giordani, the route continues along the ridge to the Vincent Pyramid, featuring fun boulder climbing sections.

After ascending the Vincent Pyramid on the southwest face, we will descend via the standard route. The descent is easy, with moderate slopes.

Mountaineering, ski touring, off-piste skiing and trekking take place in a natural, uncontrolled environment.
Weather conditions, snow, ice, terrain, visibility, altitude and physical fatigue can change rapidly and directly affect the course of the activity. For this reason, there is always an inherent level of objective risk, which cannot be eliminated but only managed.

All our activities are led by IFMGA Mountain Guides and Certified Hiking Guides (AMM).
The guide continuously assesses environmental conditions and the physical and mental state of participants, sets an appropriate pace, manages progression and ensures the correct use of equipment. If conditions require it, the guide may modify the itinerary or interrupt the activity, always in the interest of individual and group safety.

Participants are required to be in good physical and mental condition, adequately prepared for the level of the activity, and to follow the guide’s instructions at all times.

Group activities

During group outings, the pace is set according to the slowest participant. In case of fatigue or discomfort, the guide may decide to adjust the programme or return early. In the mountains, the group ascends and returns together.
