Are snowshoeing activities too strenuous and require training? False.
While walking on fresh snow with snowshoes does require more effort than strolling in the park or city, no special athletic preparation is needed. It’s an activity suitable for everyone, including children. In addition to toning leg muscles, walking on snow for 30 minutes is an aerobic exercise that trains the heart and lungs. It’s a great alternative for those who want to be active and get back in shape but don’t enjoy skiing or aren’t used to the slopes.
